Hello, My Name is Mark Anderson. 

I have created IT Training Experts because I’m passionate about helping IT professionals take their careers to the next level by overcoming the challenges that many in our industry face as they try to advance in their careers. 

So why listen to me? I have been in the Information Technology space since 2001. I have worked on the customer side, partner side, and the manufacturer side with a wide range of roles ranging from Helpdesk, Operations, Administration, Engineer, Architect, Consultant, and Leadership roles. My background in technology has been primarily around Data Center technologies but I have experience ranging from desktop support, networking, security, and development. I hold certification from a variety of manufactures, including Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, CompTIA, HP, NetApp, etc. 

I know what it’s like to enter this Information Technology field and how easy it is to get lost in the noise. Our industry has been around for 30 years but we still struggle with the same areas as an industry as we did back in the 1990s and 2000s. I think this explains the skill gap that we keep hearing about even though there are more IT professionals now than ever before. Our industry is still going through growing pains and we will need to evolve to keep up! 

It wasn’t long ago that I realized a couple of things as I advanced in my career. 

  1. Managers don’t necessarily hire the person with the longest list of certifications or technical achievements – AKA, the smartest person in the room. They look at other attributes that will end up being the biggest factor in their decision.
  2. As you move up the career ladder more is expected out of you and no one hands you an instruction manual on how to excel at your job! 

Then I discovered that I need to focus my efforts on new skills in order to keep up with my growing technical knowledge. When I discovered some of these skills my career began to take off. 

Too often, as IT Professions we focus on the hard skills like technical certifications and not enough on the soft-skills which ultimately take your career to the next level. Focusing on that next certification will make you more marketable and is very important but in the end, it’s only part of the equation. The key is working on both sides of the equation. 

That’s why I’m here. I want to help you navigate these waters and not just focus on the technical side but on the skills that will help you stand out and push the needle further. Here is what I’ll cover.
